Raytheon Technical Services Guam

IHP, Inc. was selected to provide comprehensive CIH services for the seven year (1997-2004) BOS contract at US Navy Bases, COMNAVMAR, Guam. Services included IH surveys, exposure assessments, air sampling, and safety related inspections for a wide range of construction/industrial activities such as spray paint booth operations (ventilation), fuel delivery, asbestos and lead-based paint removal, confined space entry, laboratory safety, emergency spill response, pesticide application, wood working, and welding. In addition, IHP provided the required OSHA/EPA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training to Raytheon employees in the Safety, Environmental, and Hazardous Waste departments and Confined Space Entry Competent Person training for safety personnel involved in testing atmospheres in sewer lift stations, electrical manholes, water tanks, and other confined spaces.

 

Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR)

IHP, Inc. received an award in 2004 for its performance on the Typhoon Recovery CONCAP project on US Navy Bases in Guam. KBR selected IHP to provide building inspections for asbestos and mold and CIH oversight during abatement activities. Services included the initial building inspections, preparation of asbestos abatement and mold remediation plans, site inspections during abatement, air sampling and lab analysis, and final clearance inspection/certifications upon completion of abatement activities.

 

Nova Group Inc.

IHP was contracted to provide a variety of IH, safety, and environmental services to Nova for the POL Hydrant Re-Fueling Projects in Guam from 1999-2004. Our work on these projects included preparation of all health and safety related plans such as asbestos and lead removal, demolition, underground storage tank (UST) removal, spill prevention, soil sampling and analysis, and UST closure reports. Site work included gas-free certifications for UST/pipeline removal and hot work, air monitoring during excavation activities, and soil sampling.

 

Bank of Guam

IHP, Inc. was selected to conduct indoor air quality/mold investigations for the 10-story headquarters building in Hagatna and three bank branches on Guam following damage by Super Typhoon Pongsona in December of 2003. The scope of our services included inspections and sampling (air, surface, bulk, and carpet vacuum) for mold and the preparation of summary reports containing findings and recommendations for mold remediation.

 

The Guam Shipyard

IHP, Inc. provides the Guam Shipyard with the services of an NFPA Certified Marine Chemist for entry into confined spaces with potentially toxic atmospheres and all hot involving flammable and/or combustible materials onboard vessels and within the shipyard as required by OSHA. Other related services include safety consultation, forklift operator safety training, air and wipe sampling, project oversight, and final clearance certification for asbestos and lead-based paint abatement/clean-up operations.

 

Government of Guam

Since 1994 IHP, Inc. has been providing a wide range of industrial hygiene, environmental health, and safety related services to various agencies within GovGuam. Some examples include air monitoring for the Office of Civil Defense during landfill fires; asbestos and noise surveys for the Guam Power Authority; indoor air quality investigations for the Dept. Education, the University of Guam, Dept. of Public Health and Social Services, and the Dept. of Mental Health and Substance Abuse; and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training for the Guam Environmental Protection Agency.

 

ExxonMobil

Since 1999 IHP, Inc. has been performing exposure assessments for noise and BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene, and xylenes) at facilities throughout the Pacific. Completed locations include Guam, Saipan, Tinian, Rota, Chuuk, and Palau. IHP also provides ExxonMobil with the services of an NFPA Certified Marine Chemist for entry and work in bulk storage tanks and a variety of safety courses related to hazardous materials and OSHA compliance. Recent work included sites in Guam, Saipan, Palau, and Majuro.

 

Daewoo

Since 2000 IHP, Inc. has been providing industrial hygiene services and safety training in support of the Palau Compact Road Project in Koror, Republic of Palau. IH services have included air monitoring for asbestos during asbestos cement pipe cutting and personal air sampling/exposure assessments for laboratory personnel exposed to methylene chloride. Training course have included asbestos, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous waste operations and emergency response, safe transportation of hazardous materials, and anti-terrorism security awareness.

 

Republic of Korea

IHP, Inc. has been providing the services of a CIH for various asbestos abatement contractors on US Army bases in South Korea. The projects are managed by the US Army Corps. Of Engineers Far East District which require the services of a CIH for asbestos abatement plan preparation/approval, air sampling/project oversight, and final clearance certification.

With 100's of projects completed in Guam, and the CNMI since 1994, IHP has demonstrated an ability and commitment to providing professional industrial hygiene services in our community.  From our busy beginning, IHP has also taken the time to donate services to local government agencies with limited budgets or resources.
